Membrz began in Lisbon in 2023, founded by three people who had worked on both sides of the stage. Ticketing tools sold the ticket, but nothing managed the money that followed.
Our story
The problem left unsaid
Every independent event organiser in Portugal knows the uneasy pause after a show, when someone says, "I'll get you the money next week." It is rarely malice, but coordination. Who owes what, manual transfers, cash paid at the door, and merch sales matched against a notebook in the green room.
Filipe ran a club night series for three years and spent more time on spreadsheets than booking artists. Rui worked on fintech payment infrastructure and saw the same reconciliation issues recur across industries. Sofia had spent years helping independent artists build audiences and kept hearing one complaint: "I never know when I will actually get paid."
In 2023, the three built Membrz's first version over a few months. It brought ticketing, door check-in, and instant payout splits together. They tested it first at a jazz night in Mouraria. The headliner was paid before leaving the venue. That was the proof.
Membrz Lda is incorporated in Portugal. We are a small, focused team working on one thing: the money side of live events for independent creators. We are not a full event suite. We handle the financial plumbing, leaving you more room to run the show.

Filipe Pinho Pereira
CEO and Co-Founder
Before product work, he ran a Lisbon club night series. He brings experience in payments operations and transaction tools for independent businesses. He co-founded Membrz after seeing organisers repeatedly struggle with money.
Rui Martins
CTO and Co-Founder
Backend engineer focused on payment infrastructure, distributed financial systems, and API design for payout rails. He built Membrz's core settlement engine and spins records when he is not debugging reconciliation logic.
Sofia Andrade
Head of Creator Partnerships
She has worked in live event production and artist management across the independent music scenes of Lisbon and Porto. Her experience includes venue contracts, merch strategy, and the practical finances of putting on shows. She joined Membrz to make that knowledge available to every creator running their own events.
